Gates is questionable due to foot injury

Gates stands one TD shy of joining Tony Gonzalez as the only tight ends with 70 career TDs.

(SportsData) – San Diego Chargers tight end Antonio Gates is officially listed as questionable for Sunday’s game against the Kansas City Chiefs because of a foot injury. The seven-time Pro Bowl selection did not practice on Wednesday and Thursday and left the field after briefly attempting to practice on Friday.

NFL.com reported on Thursday that Gates is bothered by lingering soreness associated with the plantar fasciitis he has struggled with for a few years now.

He will likely be a game-time decision for the Chargers; however, he has often played through the pain of his plantar fasciitis injury after minimal practice during the week.

Gates was held without a catch in their Week 2 game against the New England Patriots after opening the season with eight receptions and 74 yards against the Minnesota Vikings.
