(SportsData) — Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Percy Harvin will not play Sunday against the Chicago Bears after not making the trip with the team to the Windy City, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. Harvin, who continues to deal with an ankle injury, briefly attempted to practice Friday, but was unable to put any weight on the ankle.
He has not played since spraining his ankle in three places in Week 9 against the Seattle Seahawks.
“Percy gave it a try,” coach Leslie Frazier told reporters following Friday’s practice, “but couldn’t put much pressure on that ankle.”
The Vikings had a bye last week, but Harvin had not practiced before or after the week off prior to Friday’s attempted workout. Rookie wide receiver Jarius Wright is expected to start in Harvin’s place against the Bears. Wright caught three passes for 65 yards and a touchdown while filling in for Harvin on Nov. 11 against the Detroit Lions.
